Too Much Value on the Pertinent and Particulars

What is next?
What is next?

See…

Too many folks out here puttin’ too much value on the pertinent and particulars.

Too wrapped up in the checklist, the stats, the image—

and forgot about the soul.

Everybody want somethin’ shiny.

She think what’s between her legs is gold,

and he think what’s in his pockets is the prize.

Whole time, both of ‘em chasing illusions

lookin’ for perfection in a world that’s built on flaws.

See, you can’t buy peace.

You can’t flex peace.

You can’t post peace on the ‘Gram.

But when you feel it?

When that energy hit different,

when that person walk in and your whole spirit exhale?

Yeah… that’s rare.

We keep talkin’ about what we bring to the table,

but ain’t nobody talkin’ about what they feedin’ each other at that table.

If all you bring is looks, money, or sex,

then all you gon’ have is hunger when the storm hits.

Because see, peace…

peace is a stand-alone.

It don’t need backup.

It don’t need validation.

You don’t need a Benz when you got peace.

You don’t need a mansion when your home feels whole.

You don’t even need the physical when the spiritual got you levitatin’.

That’s that out-of-body kind of connection

the kind that pull you out your trauma and drop you in alignment.

And if you ever find that?

You better hold on to it like your last breath.

‘Cause the truth is,

we all lookin’ for that one person who makes the noise stop.

Not just the body that turns heads,

but the soul that turns chaos into calm.

So yeah, you can chase the particulars,

stack your list, polish your preferences,

but at the end of the day—

it’s not the outfit that make the person.

It’s the person that make the outfit.

If your person brings you peace,

if they make you feel like you finally home in your own skin,

don’t question it.

Don’t sabotage it.

Don’t overlook it tryin’ to find “better.”

‘Cause peace… peace hit different.

Everything else?

That’s just accessories to the wardrobe.

And baby—

when you dressed in peace,

you already drippin’ in gold.
